Inside Recess

The recess is inside the window opening. Choose this option if you want to the blind to lie in the recess of the window.

Width: Measure the inside width of the window at the top middle and bottom. Use the narrowest width measurement always using a metal tape measure.

Height: Measure the height of the window at the left, centre and right. Use the shortest height measurement always using a metal tape measure.

We will deduct the manufacturers recommended tolerance off the width/drop of the blind to ensure the blind operates perfectly within the window recess.

Outside Recess/Exact

Outside Recess/Exact is the outside of the window opening, overlapping the window recess. Choose this option if you want the blind to overlap the window recess.

Width
To minimise light leakage it's recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess on the width by least 40mm each side (60mm in the case of vertical blinds).

Height
When measuring the height take into account the required space for the mounting bracket. A flat surface of a minimum 70mm above is required (50mm in the case of vertical blinds). The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.

These blinds come with a Tilt Cord Control to enable you to adjust the angle of the slats and a Raise/Lower Cord Control to enable you to lift and lower the blind completely.

Standard controls have the Raise Control on the right and the Tilt Control on the left.

Starwood blinds are available with either colour co-ordinating ladder braids or with a colour co-ordinating 25mm tape.

If you select recommended tapes your chosen slat colour will come with the below tape colour

Glacier Slat - Arctic Tape

Divine Slat - Linen Tape

Marlin Slat - Solis Tape

Pavilion Slat - Shadow Tape

Empire Slat - Dusk Tape

Volt Slat - Smoke Tape

Soho Slat - Canvas Tape

Alternatively you can select the tape colour of your choice

Your Starwood Blind comes complete with a co-ordinated plain valance which covers the head rail.

If your blind is being fitted into a recess the valance will hide the head rail.

However if you are fitting the blind outside of the recess you will be able to see the ends of the head rail. In this instance you can choose to add mitred valance returns to your order. These fit at right angles to the matching valance and will hide the ends of the head rail.

Plain Valance will be approximately 12mm longer than the blind headrail of the blind

Valance with mitred returns will be approximately 14mm longer than the headrail of the blind

Starwood Slats are cut to size, so the Slat ends are in the natural wood finish.

If your blind is being fitted into a recess you will not see the slat ends.

However if your blind is being fitted outside of the recess you may want to choose to have the ends of the slats stainded in the slat colour.
