Inside Recess

The recess is inside the window opening. Choose this option if you want to the blind to lie in the recess of the window.

Width: Measure the inside width of the window at the top middle and bottom. Use the narrowest width measurement always using a metal tape measure.

Height: Measure the height of the window at the left, centre and right. Use the shortest height measurement always using a metal tape measure.

We will deduct the manufacturers recommended tolerance off the width/drop of the blind to ensure the blind operates perfectly within the window recess.

Outside Recess/Exact

Outside Recess/Exact is the outside of the window opening, overlapping the window recess. Choose this option if you want the blind to overlap the window recess.

Width
To minimise light leakage it's recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess on the width by least 40mm each side (60mm in the case of vertical blinds).

Height
When measuring the height take into account the required space for the mounting bracket. A flat surface of a minimum 70mm above is required (50mm in the case of vertical blinds). The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.

These blinds come complete with colour matched Tilt Cord Control and Raise/Lower Cord Control.

On blinds with widths 210mm - 300mm there will be no controls, no alternative option.

On blinds with widths 301mm - 455mm the Tilt will be on the Left and the Raise/Lower will be on the Right, no alternative option.

On blinds over 451mm you can select which side you want the controls to be on.

Timberlux Wood Venetian Blinds include a Valance and Bottom Bar. 

The shape of the Valance and Bottom Bar are determined by the Slat selected.

Basswood Blinds come with the Angled Valance and the Trapezoid Bottom Bar

Abachi Blinds come with the Camber Valance and the Rectangular Bottom Bar

Bamboo Blinds come with either Flat or Contour Valance and the Regtangular Bottom Bar.

The valance returns are designed to cover and hide the metal head rail at the ends.

If your blind is being fitted into a recess you will not see the ends of the head rail so the returns will not be needed.

If your blind is being fitted outside the recess then these will finish your blind off and hide the ends of the metal head rail.

Timberlux Wooden Venetian Blinds

These blinds usually come with the standard box end brackets that can be either face or top fixed. A centre support is supplied for wide blinds, number determined by how many ladders the blind has.

Alternatively you can chose the Swivel Brackets that can be either face or top fixed. One swivel bracket should be attached adjacent to each ladder without interfering with the internal components. Open the swivel arm, feed the headrail into the bracket as shown and then lock the swivel arm closed.

If you are ordering Blinds to sit next to each other or in a bay you can select to have the slats/vanes lining up across several blinds. The Blinds must be installed at the same height and have the same drop.

The manufacturers will align the slats/vanes as closely as possible.
