Inside Recess

The recess is inside the window opening. Choose this option if you want to the blind to lie in the recess of the window.

Width: Measure the inside width of the window at the top middle and bottom. Use the narrowest width measurement always using a metal tape measure.

Height: Measure the height of the window at the left, centre and right. Use the shortest height measurement always using a metal tape measure.

We will deduct the manufacturers recommended tolerance off the width/drop of the blind to ensure the blind operates perfectly within the window recess.

Outside Recess/Exact

Outside Recess/Exact is the outside of the window opening, overlapping the window recess. Choose this option if you want the blind to overlap the window recess.

Width
To minimise light leakage it's recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess on the width by least 40mm each side (60mm in the case of vertical blinds).

Height
When measuring the height take into account the required space for the mounting bracket. A flat surface of a minimum 70mm above is required (50mm in the case of vertical blinds). The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.

Your Vale Multishade/Duorol Blinds can be operated by means of a Loop Chain in various colours. Alternatively you can choose to have your blind battery operated. The battery operated blinds come with a single channel remote in Pure finish.

If you are ordering more than one battery operated blind you can select one blind with the Five Channel remote control, which will operate more than one blind, and the other blind/s with Battery Operated - No remote control. 

Please bear in mind side gaps between the fabric edge and the cassette edge.

The gap on the control side will be approximately 16mm and on the opposite side approximately 7mm.

Remote Control Handsets

If purchasing a manual blind please select 'Not Required' to this option.

If you have more than one blind on your order you need only select the required remote control on one blind.

Blind Installation Heights

The 2014 changes to the child safety requirements of BS EN 13120:2009+A12014 place an obligation on all blind manufacturers to sell compliant products.

If you do not know the installation height of the blind please enter 00 in the box and your blind will be manufactured in accordance with the Safety Regulation requirements.

If you input an installation height (this is the height the mounting brackets will be installed above the floor level) then your blind may be manufactured with longer controls providing they confirm to the child safety legislation.

If you are ordering Blinds to sit next to each other or in a bay you can select to have the slats/vanes lining up across several blinds. The Blinds must be installed at the same height and have the same drop.

The manufacturers will align the slats/vanes as closely as possible.

Please Note: The number of ladder cords or tapes on a blind varies according to the blind width. Even the smallest difference in size can result in a different number of ladder cords or tapes - If you need to know this please contact us
