Inside Recess

The recess is inside the window opening. Choose this option if you want to the blind to lie in the recess of the window.

Width: Measure the inside width of the window at the top middle and bottom. Use the narrowest width measurement always using a metal tape measure.

Height: Measure the height of the window at the left, centre and right. Use the shortest height measurement always using a metal tape measure.

We will deduct the manufacturers recommended tolerance off the width/drop of the blind to ensure the blind operates perfectly within the window recess.

Outside Recess/Exact

Outside Recess/Exact is the outside of the window opening, overlapping the window recess. Choose this option if you want the blind to overlap the window recess.

Width
To minimise light leakage it's recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess on the width by least 40mm each side (60mm in the case of vertical blinds).

Height
When measuring the height take into account the required space for the mounting bracket. A flat surface of a minimum 70mm above is required (50mm in the case of vertical blinds). The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.

VALE Wooden Venetian Blind Controls

VALE wood blinds come complete with a wooden wand to control the tilt of the slats and pull control to raise and lower the blind.

As standard these controls are on opposite sides of the blind - wand on the left and the cord on the right. However you can change this.

VALE 50mm Wooden Venetian Blind Tapes

Blinds come complete with colour co-ordinating ladder cords. Motorised blinds are only available with ladder cords.

Alternatively you can select tapes on manually operated blinds - not available on motorised blinds.

As standard your blind will come complete with a colour co-ordinating pelmet

If you are fitting your blind outside of the recess you can add the mitred Pelmet Returns to the order

As standard your blind comes complete with Fac/Top fix Swivel Brackets

Alernatively you can select the Box End Brackets

If you are ordering Blinds to sit next to each other or in a bay you can select to have the slats/vanes lining up across several blinds. The Blinds must be installed at the same height and have the same drop.

The manufacturers will align the slats/vanes as closely as possible.

Please Note: The number of ladder cords or tapes on a blind varies according to the blind width. Even the smallest difference in size can result in a different number of ladder cords or tapes - If you need to know this please contact us
