Inside Recess

The recess is inside the window opening. Choose this option if you want to the blind to lie in the recess of the window.

Width: Measure the inside width of the window at the top middle and bottom. Use the narrowest width measurement always using a metal tape measure.

Height: Measure the height of the window at the left, centre and right. Use the shortest height measurement always using a metal tape measure.

We will deduct the manufacturers recommended tolerance off the width/drop of the blind to ensure the blind operates perfectly within the window recess.

Outside Recess/Exact

Outside Recess/Exact is the outside of the window opening, overlapping the window recess. Choose this option if you want the blind to overlap the window recess.

Width
To minimise light leakage it's recommended that the blind overlaps the window recess on the width by least 40mm each side (60mm in the case of vertical blinds).

Height
When measuring the height take into account the required space for the mounting bracket. A flat surface of a minimum 70mm above is required (50mm in the case of vertical blinds). The overlap at the bottom of the blind is a matter of personal choice but please take into account obstacles such as radiators.

NOTE: With the Endless Chain Controls blinds with a standard head rail, a 10 mm gap is created between the ceiling and the head rail when mounted in-recess, because the tape reels protrude above the head rail.

Design XL is a statement in design with beautifully detailed elements like contrasting headrail and bottom bar. The headrail and bottom bar are available in White, Silver or Black. The insert in the headrail and bottom bar will match the chosen slat colour.

Luxaflex® Metal Venetian Hold Down Clips

Hold down clips are used to secure the bottom rail of a blind to the bottom of the window or door to prevent it from moving around. They are usually only needed for the installation of blinds on doors.

Luxaflex® Metal Venetian side guiding

Side guiding is wires that run down each side of the blind and prevents the blind from excessive movement, ideal for windows with a maximum angle of up to 15 degrees.

If you are ordering Blinds to sit next to each other or in a bay you can select to have the slats/vanes lining up across several blinds. The Blinds must be installed at the same height and have the same drop.

The manufacturers will align the slats/vanes as closely as possible.

Please Note: The number of ladder cords or tapes on a blind varies according to the blind width. Even the smallest difference in size can result in a different number of ladder cords or tapes - If you need to know this please contact us

Blind Installation Heights

The 2014 changes to the child safety requirements of BS EN 13120:2009+A12014 place an obligation on all blind manufacturers to sell compliant products.

If you do not know the installation height of the blind please enter 00 in the box and your blind will be manufactured in accordance with the Safety Regulation requirements.

If you input an installation height (this is the height the mounting brackets will be installed above the floor level) then your blind may be manufactured with longer controls providing they confirm to the child safety legislation.
